Bloom Kids offers on site childcare based on the arts, movement, and social/emotional development for children crawling to six years old. Childcare time can be purchased by the half hour. Early reservations are highly recommended as space is limited.
The play space is a magical adventure room that allows children to play and explore in a supportive and enriching environment. The play space is filled with art, music, and developmentally-rich toys to keep your child engaged and support learning.
Our program focuses on:
• Healthy development
• Continuity of care
• Development of both body and mind
• Healthy social interactions
• Time for uninterrupted play
• Plenty of freedom to explore
Bloom provides a safe and nurturing experience for children. As mothers ourselves, we understand how important it is for your child to be cared for by loving and attentive caregivers. We also know that a huge part of your ability to relax comes from trusting that your children are okay.
Our child educators are committed to seeing children grow into their full potential. They are highly-educated, TrustLine Certified, and experienced in childcare. Our entire staff receives ongoing training from our own Emily Cernusak, MA, in the Hand in Hand Parenting Philosophy, Parenting by Connection.
The Hand in Hand Parenting Philosophy, Parenting by Connection, is based on connection, listening, and providing the practical tools necessary to support children with love and sensible limits set without harshness. When children feel connected, they learn readily, love easily, and become caring leaders among their peers. Our caregivers take the time to sit with children and listen to them in order to help them transform upsets into opportunities and confidence. Learn more about Parenting by Connection by taking Emily Cernusak’s class at Bloom.
Please arrive early so you can spend a few minutes with your child in the play space before your class or service begins. This will allow your child time to get settled in the new environment and will help both of you relax and feel comfortable at Bloom.
Mothers must stay at Bloom at all times. For us there is value in keeping our children close by. Bloom Kids is a license exempt childcare center, which means mothers and guardians must stay in the building while their children are enjoying childcare. See our policies for more information.
This time is for you and your child. At Bloom we believe that time away is important for all of us. We will do our best to let you have a true break. Please understand that we will only interrupt your service or class if your child is sick, hurt, endangering others, or upset beyond consolation.
Diapers and Snacks. Please bring nut-free snacks, lovies, diapers, a change of clothes, and anything else your child may need during his or her stay. Make sure your child has a fresh diaper and is well-fed before coming to Bloom. We will change diapers as needed, but if you prefer to change your child’s diaper, we will come find you.

I have had a lifelong passion to support the well being of others. The joy of this calling has expressed itself through years of serving parents and children in various settings, and now through the practice of massage. Receiving support on my inner journey has been the key to blossoming in my own life. I seek to embody a healing presence that, in turn, supports you.
A growing interest in working holistically with the body led me to Diamond Light School of Massage and Healing Arts for its comprehensive heart-based curriculum with emphasis on practitioner mindfulness. The cultivation of attentive presence allows me to provide services that are deeply satisfying and which encourage healing of the body, mind and spirit. I completed my initial massage training in 2010. I continue to build on this foundation and offer a variety of therapeutic massage and clinical bodywork services from which to choose.
Becoming a mother changed my world in wild and wonderful ways. Finding the simple practical tools of Parenting by Connection helped it all make sense and transformed my day to day life with my daughter. I’ve been sharing this approach since 2008 and continue to teach classes, lead parent support groups, give talks and workshops, and train new instructors.
In addition to being a Certified Massage Practitioner and a Certified Parenting by Connection Instructor and Trainer, I hold a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from JFK University and have initiated my education to become a midwife.
